Today as part of our ICT programme, children have been working on the Sunshine Online site.
The PTA paid for the access to this site,
The login is StGerards2014 and the password mercy2014
Please use this site at home, it is very good.
Also today we talked about public and personal information.
What we share with people we don't know and what we share with people we know and trust.

- Monday 4th July
- Tuesday 5th July

Health and Safety regulations: from Ice-In-Line

Classes will be transported to and from the rink.
The cost for skating this year is:
- Entry & Skate hire $6 ($3 entry, $3 skates )
- Activity $2
Those with rink concessions need to have their ticket sighted by the class teacher and the teacher then records the names on the daily payment sheet. Thanks for your co-operation with this requirement.
Individual class costs are:
- Rooms 7 : 5 sessions plus bus to and from the rink $45
Health and Safety regulations: from Ice-In-Line
- All children are to wear appropriate warm clothing such as track pants, hats, jackets and gloves – no skirts or shorts.
- The wearing of cycle helmets (or similar) is compulsory for school groups.
- Running is not permitted on the ice surface or the rink surrounds.
Waste Audit Wednesday
Anna Robinson, our local Enviroschools Facilitator will be working with Room 7 from 10.30 - 11.15am this Wednesday morning, sorting rubbish, recycling and food scraps.
She will provide some gloves but if your child wishes to bring their own 'rubbish sorting gloves' that is fine. The thick gardening ones are best.
All children are asked to wear covered shoes which is the uniform for this term anyway.
If there were a couple of parents available to help us at that time, that would be great.
Hopefully we will find that we have very little that can not be recycled or composted.

Poetry Eisteddfod
These will be heard in class WEEK 10, Monday 4th July with the eisteddfod assembly on Thursday 7th at 1:30pm.
Please help your child to choose a poem that they can learn off by heart and really present with gusto!!!
It may be a favourite poem from home or it's fine to use a class poem, as most children will know these.
Begin with a short introduction
-the name of the poem
-the name of the poet
-say why you chose the poem
Presentation
-know your poem off by heart
-keep your head up
-speak slowly and clearly in a loud voice that we can all hear
-make eye contact with the audience
-use expression
- look like you are enjoying the poem
Good Luck

Final Swimming Day
We have one more lesson on Tuesday 7 June and have just been asked to bring togs AND our winter pj's, top and bottom. If your child doesn't have any, thermals or t-shirt and leggings would be fine. Absolutely no onesies please!!!!! They are very heavy in the water. Sounds like some fun for our last lesson!!!
Queens Birthday Weekend
Don't forget Monday is a holiday!!! Then final swimming day Tuesday. All children have been asked to bring winter pjs, top and bottom. Thank you
