Welcome to a very short week!!

Hi Everyone

I hope you all had a lovely Otago Anniversary weekend. This week is going to fly by with Friday being Good Friday. A reminder that school is also closed on Tuesday.

We welcome back Sue after Easter. Sue is really looking forward to being back in Room 7. Thank you for all your support over the past two months. Robyn and I have both loved job sharing in Room 7. When Sue returns I will be back to teaching on Fridays.

This week along with reading it is time to start thinking about a bible reading or poem. Your scripture reading can be anything you like, eg. a parable, a psalm, a reading from the Gospels. These will be read out in the class in Week 11.

Have a lovely Easter break

Week Eight

Welcome to Week Eight.

This week the children have lots of different experiences. On Monday the children have Mrs Laidlaw for Art while I am on release. On Monday afternoon the whole school is walking to a performance in the town hall.

Sue is on the road to recovery. She has been loving getting the cards and letters that we have been making in the class. As soon as we know Sue's return day we will let you know.

On Wednesday the PTA have their AGM here at school. It would be great to see lots of new faces. "Many hands make light work"

Please feel free to join us for a whole school assembly on Friday.

Have a fantastic week.

Week Seven

Hi Everyone

Wow what an awesome effort on Wednesday at the triathlon. Robyn and I were proud of the way that everyone gave it 100%

This week is looking as normal as it gets! Everyone is settled into the routines of Room 7. Last week we wrote letters to Sue. The kids all loved telling her what they have been up to and what they have been learning.

Please consider becoming a Room 7 rep on the PTA. Kirsty Anderson has kindly offered to be one of the reps but we do need another. It is not a massive task. One of the reps comes to the PTA meeting. As classroom parents any concerns or ideas you have for the PTA can be feed through the reps.

The PTA drive many things that help the children at St Gerard's. They are desperately short on people and they would love to see some new faces.

Please remember any questions or comments please come and see Robyn or I.

Have a great week

Week Six

The weeks seem to be flying by! Robyn and I had a great week last week and both made the comment what a lovely engaged class Room 7 is.

We have the school triathlon on Tuesday. Please see last weeks newsletter for information. The children's bikes will need to be dropped at the pool by 12pm. The children are to be picked up from the pool after 2.30pm. If you have any concerns about this talk to Kate and we will see what we can do.

This week is Walk n Wheels Week. The children will be bringing home a progress card about it. Obviously people all live in different areas making this a hard challenge for some - do your best. This is a nationwide week to promote physical activity. Our kids are all pretty active!

The children now all have words or spelling to do at home along with reading.

Have a great week
