Week Five

Week Five

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We shifted into our new house. It is lovely to be there even though the interior design is very much boxes everywhere!

This week we welcome Robyn Cooney into Room 7. Robyn and I will be job sharing until Sue returns to work. I caught up with Sue in the weekend. She loved the card that the kids had made and enjoyed hearing news from Room 7.

This week is looking more ‘normal’ without swimming. The triathlon is coming up next week on the 6th March so the kids can practice for this if they feel like it.

On Thursday the PTA have a meeting. Please consider joining the PTA as there are a few parents who have moved on. It is not a massive job but many hands make light work. Details about the meeting will be in the newsletter.

This week the children will have either words to learn for spelling or coloured words to learn. It would be great if you could do these along with reading each night.

Finally please feel free to talk to either one of us about anything.

Have a great week

Mrs Wright

Hello everyone,

This is just to let all parents in Room 7 aware of whats happening in Room 7.
Mrs Wright is still not well but is making a recovery slowly. She has a virus and it is taking time to come right.
This week in Room 7 Mrs Donaldson will teach on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Mrs Cooney on Wednesday and Thursday. This plan will stay in place for as long as it takes Mrs Wright to recover. We can promise you that the children will have consistency in these two teachers. We are committed to having as little interruption as possible by having only 2 teachers.
If you have any concerns or questions please come in and see Mrs Eastwood.
Hope you all had a great weekend.

Week Four: Term One 2018

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. Thank you to those who were able to join us at our school mass on Sunday.

Please keep Sue in your prayers as she continues to feel under the weather. I will be teaching in Room 7 this week. On Tuesday the children will have Mrs Laidlaw for ‘The Arts’ while I am released for testing.  Please come and see me if you have any concerns or questions.

This week we have swimming on Tuesday and Wednesday followed by our swimming sports on Thursday. Keep an eye out on the newsletter for details about the swimming sports.  On Thursday the children wear their house colours and are to be dropped at the pool at 9am. Children return to school by bus for the afternoon.

This week the children may be bringing home a browsing book some nights as we may not have time for reading as the day is condensed with swimming. Some children also have words in their homework book to learn. Please tick when they know them.

Help! Please send along your cardboard boxes or plastics for the construction table.

Finally I am loving spending extra days in Room 7. What a neat bunch of kids.

Thanks
Kate

Week 2, Term 1

Hi everyone,

Hope the first few days of school went well and your child is feeling positive and happy.

Please remember to check the blog at the beginning of each week to find out what's happening. It is usually posted on Sunday evening.

An important date this week is our Meet the Teacher evening from 5.30 - 7pm this Thursday 8 February.   Please bring tea and come along to meet with other families,  eat outside in our beautiful
environment and then listen to the expectations, goals, homework and activities for Room 7 this year.
(The BBQ will be available if you wish to BBQ any food.)

Swimming starts next week for Rooms 2 and 7 on Thursday 15th February from 11.00 -12.00.  We will be travelling to and from the pool by bus.  If you are free to help dress children you are most welcome to join us at the pool.  It would also be great if we could have a parent that is willing to get in the pool to teach a group of children. (We will have activities on a card for you.)  Please let us know if you would keen to help.

Thank you to everyone for purchasing the stationery box before school started.  We also require parents to pay $8 to Chrissy at the office to cover felts, coloured pencils and tissues which were not part of the stationery order. We realise that this is an expensive time of the year so just whenever it is possible.

Please start sending along boxes, cardboard rolls, plastic bottles and containers for our construction box.

Have a great week and enjoy Waitangi Day on Tuesday.

Sue and Kate
