Term 2 Week 9

Hi everyone,

Well done Olivia, for explaining our Baptism Art at Mass yesterday. I had some lovely feedback from parishioners afterwards. They really enjoy seeing and hearing about our learning.

We have ice skating this week on Tuesday and Thursday, leaving school by bus at 10.40, with lessons starting at 11.00am.  Thank you to those parents that helped us last Tuesday.

The rest of the week is relatively quiet for a change.

Next week (week 10) is busier. We have:

  • St Johns some time next Monday morning
  • Presenting Eisteddfod poems to the class on Monday afternoon
  • Ice-skating at 11.00am on Tuesday morning
  • Eisteddfod assembly at 1.30pm on Thursday afternoon in the hall
  • Mufti Day and Cultural assembly at 1.30pm on Friday, last day for term 2!!!
This is the last week to help your child prepare a poem to present to the class next Monday. The children all have poems in their poetry book that they could choose a poem from, or select a poem of their choice.  They can enhance this with actions if they wish.  We will be choosing two or three children to recite their poem at the Eisteddfod assembly.
Criteria will be: knowing your poem off by heart, using a clear voice, looking at the audience and using expression.

Also, the Cultural Assembly next Friday is a chance for children from other countries and cultures to share an aspect of their culture with others.  It might be a costume, song or dance.  If your child would like to share something, please let us know.

Have a great week,
Neroli
