Holy Water

We enjoyed having Father Pat visit on Friday. He blessed us with oil and brought us some Holy Water.

We decorated our Holy Water containers. Aren't they pretty. Put them beside your bed or on your Prayer Table to use at prayer time.🙏🏻

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Whole School Mass this morning and well done MacKenzie for reading a Prayer of the Faithful.

A very big thank you to those parents who helped out at the Working Bee on Saturday, it was a very productive afternoon and the grounds look great.

Monday 9am - School Prayer at Church, all welcome
Tuesday- swimming, no lunch orders or pie warmers please.
Wednesday - my release afternoon, Science with Mr Hogue

This weeks news topic is - A newspaper cutting I like and why

Well done to those children who are doing their Spelling homework each night, tooling and writing out their words.
We have been talking a lot about taking responsibility for our own belongings, so as a class we have all agreed that those children who bring IN their book bag AND put their reading log in the box every morning this week will have some Golden Time on Friday!!!

Have a great week.

Term 2, Week 2

The term got off to a great start last week and was busy with some new activities.

Monday -Tomorrow morning we start with Prayers in the Church, everybody welcome.
We also have Kapahaka with Mary-Anne, then I will be away for the afternoon.

Tuesday - Swimming at 12.15. We will take our lunch with us, so no lunch orders or pie warmers please. We had a few mix ups with clothing last week so please check that everything is named.

Wednesday - We had our first discovery time last Wednesday which went well, except for the downpour of rain at 2 o'clock when we were outside creating our nature sculptures!! We would appreciate any help at all on these afternoons, thank you.

Parish/School Mass 9.00am led by Room 4.

Thursday - Swimming at 1.15pm

Friday - Full school assembly lead by room 6.

Last Friday some children started Spelling. These sheets are in their Homework book and need to be completed each night with a test on Friday morning.
The children have been taught how to use their tool hand to hear and stretch out the sounds. We have also identified the tricky part of the word that they need to be aware of.
Please support them with writing these words out each night. It should only take 5 minutes.

Well done to those of you who are hearing your child read each night and are signing the log book. Many of the children are all working towards 50 reading nights and are enjoying the challenge.

I have decided to postpone Public Library visits until Term 3 as we are out of the classroom with swimming and ice-skating this term.

Have a great week.
